I moved an SSD drive with Windows 10 from one machine to another machine with completely different hardware, and to my surprise it booted successfully! Older versions of Windows would typically give you a blue screen of death when run on unfamiliar hardware.

For the record, I killed that Windows installation and replaced it with Linux anyway, since this was the original plan, but I am truly amazed. Kudos to Microsoft.
