I tried cleaning it with a sharpened tooth of plastic fork, but no joy. There is not much debris there either, it is mostly clean. The phone, Motorola Edge 2022 is 3 days shy of being 3 years old.<\/p>\n<p>I got curious about the exact mechanism that holds the cable in place. It turns out that it is held by two hooks 1.25&#215;0.25mm in size, probably made of plastic. No wonder it wears down after 3 years of use.
