{"id":1821,"date":"2015-12-02T12:07:18","date_gmt":"2015-12-02T17:07:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ikriv.com\/blog\/?p=1821"},"modified":"2015-12-02T12:07:18","modified_gmt":"2015-12-02T17:07:18","slug":"windows-10-install","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ikriv.com\/blog\/?p=1821","title":{"rendered":"Windows 10 Install"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I did a clean install of Windows 10 on a brand new SSD.<\/p>\n<p><b>Good things<\/b>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It was relatively straightforward and quick.<\/li>\n<li>It also rebooted seamlessly without requiring me to remove the DVD so it could boot from the hard drive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>OK things<\/b>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Most hardware worked out of the box, but not the speakers.<\/li>\n<li>I was able to solve the speakers problems via a few clicks (update driver here, properties there), without going to Google<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Bad things<\/b>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By default a lot of data goes to Microsoft: browsing history, typing information (whatever it is), et cetera.<\/li>\n<li>It asked me a lot of questions about how I want to use Wi-Fi. The problem is, my desktop does not have Wi-Fi capability (shocking, eh?), but they never bothered to check.<\/li>\n<li>It never asked me about the time zone and determined it &#8220;automatically&#8221; instead by putting me on the West Coast.
